The Pilates Method
Pilates is an excellent form of gentle, non-impact exercise that focuses on increasing core strength, muscle balance, and muscle and joint flexibility. It evolved from techniques initially created by Joseph Pilates over 80 years ago.

Pilates utilizes both unique mat exercises and apparatus-based exercises with custom-designed machines to strengthen and tone muscles, improve posture, provide flexibility and balance and to unite body and mind. All Pilates exercises are pain-free and completing a full Pilates workout will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and energized!

Pilates is also an excellent complement to a regime of cardiovascular exercise such as running or cycling. An increasing number of elite athletes from a variety of sports are using Pilates to correct muscle imbalances created by years of focusing on over-developing a limited set of muscles. Pilates also provides a great source of 'off-season' training for a wide variety of activities, including golf, skiing, curling and more!
